Default Re: What car do you drive now and what would you like to drive but can't afford now?

I currently drive a 2006 Ford Escape. So far I love it! It was not my choice but of my fiancé. He is a Ford Auto Technician and told me that was the best of all Ford to get right now. It’s just the perfect size a very small SUV). I need to get a 4 wheel drive because we live up in the mountains. It takes a good 35 minutes just going up the extreme curvy road. Must put vehicles at least in 2nd drive so you’re not braking all the way down the mountain. I have seen cars burst into flames because they were using the brakes all the way down. A hybrid would not be efficient on this since it’s not flat and the type of driving you do on this road would not put the hybrid in efficient mode so it’s pointless for us.

I am also 45 minutes away from food stores so I like to stock up every three weeks. The 98 firebird was not good for that. There is also room for future baby seats which will make this vehicle run long term. And again since it's a Ford, my soon to be hubby can repair anything and has all the tools for it.

Oh yeah… this Escape used to be a Rental vehicle, fiancé search it out and found it to be in excellent shape, so we got a good deal on it.
