i don't have a lot of categories... basically just
gas
groceries
entertainment- dates/family stuff
household
cars
garage sales/thrift stores
misc

if it helps any i'm still working on formulating a budget... i found it helps to start by tracking expenses for a month or so, so you can see where you spend your money and what the major categories are... good luck and i'm glad you found everybody helpful...
