Default Re: How do you buy sheets?

some of my best sheets came from a place in the next town over: the sheets are seconds and aren't packaged up, you just dig in a bin and try to find some that match! nice thing was you paid by the pound... anyways, the ralph lauren sheets i got from there over 10 years ago for my twin sized bed were great and lasted wonderfully. they were like a soft comfy chambray shirt: sturdy and thick but super soft. perfect sheets in my world.

my criteria for sheets: cotton only, can't stand a poly blend it makes my skin itch. 400 thread count or higher, and a sateen finish. don't like flannel/tee-shirt/satin shiney sheets. i find the sateen finish feels softer than a non-sateen finish in the same thread count and i have yet to have mine pill up. also, i prefer 'combed cotton' (egyptian is best, other will do!), or 'long fiber' cotton. seems to make the sheets a little more sturdy.
