No way, I feel like most kids are raised to think they deserve things, cars, assistance with buying a house, etc..I am also amazed at the number of 15-20 year olds who don't have at least a part-time job. Food, shelter, education, clothes those are things that should be provided, the rest is gravy and the way people learn to be appreciative is to work hard. I think it is ok to match whatever funds they can come up with on their own, but the sense of entitlement of most kids is ridiculous! Whatever teaches them to be self-sufficient is a great gift...if they have to wait longer to get the car, carpool, walk or take the bus, that's life.
