Default Re: How was your 2006 financially speaking?

I'll have a better idea once i do my end of year expense statement (which I plan to share here), but the overall highlights are generally good:

* increased my 401k contribution to 12% (i'll be raising that to 15% once i get my next raise next March)

* maxed out the Roth IRA

* continued to prepay house mortgage, and recently boosted prepayments to set me up for paying the whole thing off in 7 years

* looks like (on paper) i'll have spent about $2,000 more this year than i earned,b ut i'm not too worried about that; it's the first year i can remember doing that, due to some bills from dentist and surgery. The actual bills have all been paid,b ut i do plan to carry over that on-paper debt into next year til i eliminate it

Broken Arrow you have my sympathies, sounds like you're doing great, all things considered. Maybe someday your online name will be so at odds with where you're at that you can change it. Strong arrow? Sold & true arrow? Unbroken arrow?

* think the rising stock market has floated everyone's boats, so that's been helpful to me, too

Overall, i'm on track as planned.
