Be prepared to be denied at least one time, and probably several times. Document, document, document. Keep a journal of your activities of daily living - how your medical condition(s) affect your quality of life.
If you keep getting denied for SS, you may want a lawyer. It won't cost you up front, they get paid a portion of your retroactive SS. It may take you a few years to get approved so be prepared.
