This is not a usual news post, but nothing is usual when we get Nate and I get together. In our discussions of what upgrades we need to implement on this site, the calculators was one of the areas that was mentioned. It happened to be mentioned while we were drinking beer, and so it wasn't long before we were creating
The Beer Calculator which tells you how much you are spending on beer each year.
If the beer calculator produces a number that is a bit of a shock, we also came up with 10 ways you can reduce the cost of drinking beer:
Avoid purchasing beer in bars and restaurants
If drinking outside the home, do so during Happy Hours
Purchase beer in bulk (by the case)
Buy beer at discount warehouses
Drink beer at a tailgate party if attending sporting events
Consider brewing your own beer
Make your first two beers your favorite and then switch to a cheaper brand after that
Buy beer on sale or that is discounted
Pour slowly and tilt the glass to reduce foam
Purchase beer that comes with coupons for meat, hot dogs or other BBQ items
Always take a designated driver - if you get pulled over after you have been drinking, you're going to pay a lot of money for the ticket, for a lawyer and for increased auto insurance.
