Very true. Saying prenatal care was a waste because the baby turned out okay is like saying that paying life insurance premiums is a waste if you don't die.

There are a zillion things that could go wrong during pregnancy, many of which wouldn't be picked up until it was too late if nobody was monitoring mother and fetus. BP could be high. Gestational diabetes could occur. Fetal abnormalities could exist, etc.
