Good advice on how to keep from being broke before payday, so I thought it deserved a mention here...

"When I cash my check, I buy at least one, usually two to three rolls of quarters, then put them in my "home savings jar" when I get home. Bills are attractive to look at, lightweight, and just scream to be spent. Coins on the other hand are heavy, cumbersome, and not so attractive to look at, therefore the temptation to spend is not so great. I know it may sound crazy, but it really works.
