The wife and I found that term was best for us. You are only insuring your income. I think there are better vehicles for investing than whole life.(I am told it is good for some due to tax considerations.) For most of us term is the way to go. You need to shop around and not go with just the first offering.
Non-smokers get a better rate. Those close to their optimum weight and without certain maladies get a lower rate. Also see if you can get a rider that provides the insurance will be paid should you become disabled. A pretty nifty little thing to have if the expnse is not much more.
