When gas prices were ridiculously high, there were a lot of people who began producing and using it in place of regular gas. On the west coast, they're predicting that Ethanol will replace gas altogether years down the road when more automobile companies begin to produce more compatible cars. I would imagine that this trend would gradually work its way east. Again, I am not an expert. This is just an idea.

i went to cedar rapids IA for work march 2005 & found out they've been using ethanol for 10 years or so. go figure, they are known for their corn
