I remember a few years ago I was watching the history channel and they were showing an old special from the 70's hosted by Leaonard Nimoy. I can't remember the name of the documentary, but basically it was a serious warning that global temperatures were dropping, a new ice age was beginning, and major US cities like New York and Philadelphia would soon be uninhabitable.
