Are you aware that at least once a year, and more often if you do LOTS of laundry, that you are supposed to run it through an entire cycle on
HOT water with one cup bleach and absolutely NOTHING else in it, no clothes, no towels, etc.
Whenever I do all the bedding to change from spring/summer to fall/winter and back again vice versa, when I'm done laundering all the blankets and bedspreads, etc., I always do this.
Your washing machine will last MUCH longer, with no lint clogging up the innards, and you'll NEVER have any smelly laundry - which might indicate that you've got mold spores growing or some type of bacteria.
Really, if you don't already do this Bleach-Water-Cleansing of your washing machine, go get a flashlight and examine just how dirty your washer currently is, and after the HOT water bleach treatment how sparkling white it becomes.
Also, whenever I do this, I always make sure that the next load I do in the machine is WHITES, because if there is any bleach residue whatsoever, it won't harm the whites.
