This is SO important. Generics and store brands aren't the same as the name brand, anymore than Coke is the same as Pepsi. The point is that if you keep trying the cheaper generics and store brands, you will likely find some that you like just as well, some that you dislike and even some that you actually prefer over the name brand.

If you want to cut costs over time, you need to keep an open mind and be willing to try new things. Earlier in the thread, I mentioned a few store brand items that we like better than the brand name. We would buy them even if they were the same price, but fortunately, they are significantly cheaper, so we save money and get something we like more. Tough to beat that.
