Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
I've got a thing for simple vintage wooden chairs. I've been to the dump twice and passed on several. It has haunted me. The chairs I like are sort of 50's,I call them "kitchen chairs, or farmhouse chairs", heavier than today's new chairs which always seem to be so cheap and flimsy. These older ones are solid. They all vary a bit in style but rarely size . I like to paint them ivory and put them everywhere.....my home away from home-"the potting shed", the porch's, an empty corner. It's killing me, especially the one I saw today! I must give in and go get it. The dump usually charges me $1.00.
I'm emailing a couple of companies about their products, usually something I use all the time or something that costs me too much as they always send me coupons for comments. I think I read that Flash and Jeffery do this, too. At any rate it works. Sent in several rebates today which makes me happy!
Looking for the site that gives recipes for making large amounts of starter recipes like pancakes and muffins. I had a good one but didn't save it. I like the one that is for pancakes. You scoop out a certain amount of the flour mixture and all you have to add is milk, eggs and oil. It saves a lot of prep time. I use to store them in good rubbermaid or tupperware with the directions for mixing taped on the cover. There are always sales on flour ect.. Time is always my issue and why cook from scratch when you can have some things ready to mix!
