Re: What frugal thing did you do today?
OMG....!! Guess what? The beautiful vintage rocker that I described in an earlier posting? My sister recognized it. It was hers. She decided no one ever used it so they hauled it to the dump and it was put up for auction which I was so proud to have won the bid on...for $30.00. Yep, the very one she paid $2.00 for at a yard sale!! My sister said "If I had thought of it I would have offered it to you before we took it to the "Transfer Station"!!! She promised she would always pass items by me in the future first! I still love my rocker. Matter of fact, when I stopped by the dump yesterday I found my antique dealer friend there scouting for items for her shop. I'm glad I got the rocker first! My sister and I had a huge laugh over this one. I can not believe I didn't recognize it when I bid! My friends at the dump must have taken pity on me, they didn't charge me for a rubbermaid storage container [large] or a sweet denim coat I found, 3/4 length! They also gave me a total of about 500 maxwell house points, some of which I used for a $15.00 gift certificate to Burpee Seeds. The rest went for coffee carafes for mom, sister and two of my favorite dump guys!
Ended up with 18 jars of Raspberry jam from all my picking. So yummy!
