Is anyone out there a single stay at home parent?
I am a single parent of 3. I work outside the home in the telecommunications industry and basically, HATE my job. I have been at the same company for 20 + years. I used to love my job, but within the last 7 years, they have downsized so many times, each time dumping more work on us it is very very stressful. We have also had a change of management in the last 10 years, and my current supervisor is a person whom my ex once arrested (during the time frame we were still married) so you can visualise what I go thru at work. I make almost $48,000 a year--nothing else within 100 miles pays like this company does. Also, I have only a 2 year degree, not a 4 year, so finding another job has been very very difficult. Anyone have any ideas to get out of this rat race as far as a stay at home job? (I can't go back to school at the time, because I work swing shifts and would be missing classroom time) I have checked into online degrees, but am not sure I want to do that. Also, since I am a single parent, I can not go without carrying medical insurance and will need retirement benifits. Any ideas??
