Default Re: Frugal phone service

We've got Vonage as well. Because DH is a government employee, we get a discount, so it's around $16 a month for unimited local & national calling plus voicemail, call waiting, and caller ID.

I was never so happy to dump SBC!

I will say that we don't get the same quality that we had with our landline phone. There seems to be a 1 or 2 second delay on our phone, which means my friends and I often accidentally talk over each other. Also, every once in a while someone will say they can't understand me well, but it's sporadic. The quality seems similar to a cell phone.

Still, I don't use the phone much and it was worth it to me in order to save $30 a month.
