Default Re: What foods do you regularly make from scratch?

I find that most prepared foods have too darn much salt for my husband's heart condition. So I make a lot of things from scratch. I've learned to make salsa with no salt, marinades for meat with no salt, and a lot of crock pot soups from scratch. I like to make yeast raised butter rolls from scratch. I make bread machine breads but have also been known to make it the old fashioned way.

I like to mix my own spices (for instance I have a taco seasoning recipe that I think I got from the Tightwad Gazette).

I cook a lot of beans too. I used to make my own soy nuts in the oven and fruit leather and when fresh roasted peanuts were cheap, I used to mix my own peanut butter (which is Glorious!).
