I find that's true for me as well.
I guess I like to cook to a certain extent - it's the planning, shopping, prepping and clean-up that bog me down and turn it into a chore in my head.
Like someone else mentioned, if it's cooking for friends then it feels more like fun and entertainment and less like something that has to be done as part of the daily routine.
