Besides a possible ad in the local paper... good signs can't be stressed enough for the best turn outs.

GOOD SIGNS ARE SO IMPORTANT!

You have to remember that people are usually traveling at high speed when they spot your *bright colored* sign. Make your text LARGE ENOUGH TO READ, BOLD AND VERY SIMPLE! The best signs *have arrows* pointing you in the right direction and the date(s) of the sale. These are the 2 most important things you can add to your sign. Don't muck it up with a lot of tiny words.

I usually judge whether a yard sale is worth stopping at by how large and simple their sign is! I think big sign ....big sale!


If you're drawing people from a distance, you should post more signs along the way - even just an arrow done on the same colored paper - will suffice.
