I think gift certificates are a wonderful idea; maybe for a "his and hers" massage, or dinner out, museum memberships or membership to a local college radio. For one of my employees who was a real nature bug, we bought a year's membership to a local garden/hiking preserve and then assembled a picnic basket with cute china, flatware, napkins and a nice bottle of wine.
