After maintaining a list of current online savings accounts and rates for nearly four years, I am announcing that I will no longer actively maintain it. Thanks to Jeffrey and Nate for providing this site and assistance to me for this listing.
I have left the list/links of offerings below for future reference. There are, of course, other banks - as well as credit unions, which were not contained on this list - that offer varying levels of rates on various types of accounts. When I began this list, many online banks offered 5% or more. At the present time, it is difficult to say that any bank or credit union really offers a high rate. Some banks do offer a higher rate if you have checking, savings, and use a debit card, etc. as a promotion, so you may want to be on the lookout for such in your area.
