I always buy my shirts in cotton (well I research in cotton so I am a bit particular) I always buy them 4 sizes too big at 75% off.

Then I wash my shirts in hot water and dry them in the highest temperature setting. The shirts then become much smaller, the weaves and knits much tighter, and the fabric much thicker in general.

My shirts last a long time!!! I am not too particular with shirts. I am a very non-picky person. Usually I just get my shirts from someone who outgrows them.
