Default Re: Five Simple Steps to Significant Savings

Wow those are great tips for living in the uk..
Perhaps you could help me..
My husband and I are muslim which means we cannot take interest or pay interest. This includes lack of a pension.
I have been trying to think of ways to spend less money.. After taxes my husband takes home £2,880 and we own are own home in cash at the moment.
We have found an islamic mortgage and are hoping to move to a better area.. because my house is too small and the schools are horrible.

But when I calculate everything up I just feel so fed up.. As I would like to start working but the cost of everything has me in tears.

Firstly my husbands petrol costs £300 (he's a gp and needs to do house visit during his lunch). I figured utilities, mobile (for hubbies work), and council taxes to be about £300 a month.
A mortgage of £650 a month... £500 a month for food, clothing 2 adults and 2 kids, my petrol, nursery fees of about £500 a month.

I don't want to complain.. but it seems so expensive everything. 2,200 nearly and doesn't include expenses that will come up the rest of the year. leaving a meagre £600 to cover them.

Is it more or are other professionals having the same problems?? Any other suggestion on how we can live cheaper??
Kind regards
