How do you cure a SO of bad cooking habits?
My SO is a pretty decent cook; his forte is steaks and seafood on the grill.
HOWEVER, he assumes he is a master at everything he does, inlcuding letting seafood and meats dethaw for hours at room temperature, stuffing the bird, not a good idea as was pointed out in another thread and storing opened bottles of wine, jam or other stuff in the cabinet instead of the fridge. Eeeww. (i remember my best friend's family kept butter in the cupboard too, tho they had a big family and went thru it quick....)
The worst had to be when i saw he kept a gallon container of USED vegetable oil for making his homemade french fries. Just like they do at fast food restaurants, you know, the artery clogging variety? Gosh, sometimes i'm afraid what i'll find looking inside those cabinets.
