Part of my job is doing foreclosures. I have a total of 4 years of foreclosure work. I can say I've only seen one lender who wanted to foreclose on a home (owner financed and the house was worth far more than was owed).
It's important to know your rights in your state. Texas is a state where you only really get 45 days after the first notice is sent. Other states can draw on for years and years.
If you do get behind, go to CCCS and talk to them. They can help you get your other bills in line and advise you on when it is time to file bankruptcy. Bankruptcy absolutely stops foreclosure.
