Default Wonder how you can tell the frugal gene skipped a generation?

Example...
My brother (who is always in constant "we have no money" mode) came to town. Now, he works as a paralegal, fam of 5, making more than he's ever done. We went out to dinner, a few beers, a club or two, a two brother kinda night...
Sure, once in a while is ok, but I get this "once I get my degree, it'll be like this all the time..." and I almost want to smack him and go..."It's ok, let's just go hit the bennigan's!!"
The most telling example of spending is that we went to a tea shoppe...with about 300 different kinds of tea! He bought a few 100gram bags of different flavors, etc....total bill? $78.00!!! with one tea costing 38 for 100 grams!!! GEEZ!! My 3.30 hot tea paled in comparsion!
I keep wanting to say to him when he spends, spends, spends, than complains..."Maybe that $100 couldv'e been spent better than on some tea!!" Lipton's is 3.00 a box, works fine for me!!
Just a family rant...thanx.
