The american express that we have does allow you to make monthly payments, we do not have to pay it all off everymonth. But we do. It is only used for purchases for building a house. I deduct from that house's account, every time we use it, and pay it off when the bill comes in.
I would not spend 10K on a wedding if I had to charge everything, but knowing me, I wouldn't spend that much if it was given to me. I would keep the money and have a cheap wedding. I spent $100 on my last wedding.
