Billsgirl, I used Sharebuilder for a while. It's fine, no problems, but it didn't really cut it for me. The important thing you have to keep in mind with SB is that the $4 stock buys only happen on Tuesdays. If you want to take advantage of a dip in a stock or ETF, you really can't pull the trigger right away. Also -- selling the stock or ETF costs $16 or so.

Take a look at Scottrade. Buying is $7, but selling is $7 too. Also the trade happens almost instantaneously when you put in an order (assuming the market is open of course).
