A poem of my own.....
"Cash"
She left me, I can't believe it,
I thought she was amused by my wit!
Sayin "Get Outta Here! I don't need you,
I'm happy without you!"
I am such a fool!
We used to be seen at the hot spots,
Nights hot and sweatin, drinkin to cool down.
Knowing we'd be together forever,
1000 to one odds, I'm bettin.
Now, she's playin me,
Never wants to be seen with me.
Without her, my face's gotta sheen,
as my telephone rings.
Landlord, credit card, bank,
Hitting me up.
Askin for Larry, sayin'
"I'm james, what's up?"
Lonely nights, cravin somethin else
than bread and water,
Sayin, "Come on back, Cash,
I don't need Morality,
I want you instead of her."
Knowin that women don't want Johnny broke,
They want Johnny Cash, The man in the black, to buy them things.
But it's tough, waiting for her to change her mind,
Knowin she'll be back someday, sometime.
