I don't know what the laws are in the U.S. (I'm in Canada), but here there is a law that states that customers have 30 days from the date of purchase for price protection. Stores must refund the difference within 30 days.
Good for you for being aware of the price drop and acting on it! It's a good reason to keep track of receipts- something I could be better at.
