I doubt I would hand it over, but I totally want my kids to know where it all goes, and when they are complaining about money (or line drying clothes) I want them to know just where the splurges were and where the bills are. which means I have to be honest about them! no eating out every day while telling my kid we can't afford to give them an allowance!
