Just to play Devil's Advocate, why should a business give a discount to unemployed customers? What will that accomplish? Yes, it will save the customers some money, but odds are the store is already suffering due to the weak economy. Give a bunch of your customers a 20% discount and your revenue drops even more, further straining your own business. That might even result in you having to add to the ranks of the unemployed by cutting your staff. Who wins in that scenario?
