My dad is "cheap" and has always done his own oil changes. Made me do my own when I was 16/17.

There is cost of oil, filter, and oil DISPOSAL. Then there is the ruined clothes (LOL). Plus it takes a fair amount of time for those less practiced. In some cars, oil filters can be REALLY hard to change (as in my first car - was just in a hard to reach space).

Jiffy Lube is $20, on average, and takes about 5 minutes. PLUS they check over everything in the car. I will take Jiffy Lube any day. I will never change my own oil. I am not convinced it would save me a dime, anyway.

No bad experiences with JiffyLube.
