My spouse and I have pretty photographic memories. But I never shop so I wouldn't have a clue. My spouse does all the shopping and it's definitely easy for him to remember the prices at most stores. IT can make a big difference. If you don't have the memory, that is what price books are for! (& probably a little bit more reliable than memory, anyway).

Ironically, most of the best sales prices are at our "high end" grocery store. Few understand this because they don't shop around, or rely on "appearances." You should have seen the organic, local fruit we got for pennies this summer. Best fruit we have ever eaten! Cheapest too. But some items we only buy at Target or Walgreens - you just can't beat the prices.
