Default Re: Checking your debit/credit card statement

Yes, I always check my credit card statements against the credit card receipts I've saved.

I also once annually call and request a print out of my payments from the bank that holds my mortgage. I do so becus I make additoinal payments each month and want to be sure they record them. I read that mortgage banks often make mistakes calculating principal and interest payments.

I also check grocery store receipts, usually as I'm slowly walking out of the store. They OFTEN make mistakes, for instance, they'll charge you for higher priced produce that was not on sale.

Someone I used to date, an attorney, was also in the habit of counting change from any transaction, and he would receive the wrong change in probably 1 out of every 5 transactions. Guess the cash register clerks were all home-schooled. (Just kidding!!)
