This is what really gets me. I have to admit that some of the new convenience products really are novel and time-saving, but they are terribly expensive.

For example, I have had some of the 100-calorie snack packs of different products. They're good and simple to toss in a lunch bag or whatever. I had never purchased them, though. One time in the supermarket, I looked at them. The regular product packages were about $2.50/lb unit price. The 100-cal snack packs of a similar product were $10.00/lb unit price, four times as much. Sure they're convenient, but you pay a very steep price for that convenience.

And we wonder why people are going broke.
