Re: Jugging In-Laws During Holidays
This year we live 13 hours from family.
I broke my mother's heart and told her I wasn't coming home for xmas. I just couldn't do it. I get 2 days off from work and the thought of traveling for 4 days total (including the travel time) with the stress of xmas expecations (hers not mine) was too much for me.
In years past, we spent xmas morning with my mom and then xmas night with his mom. Xmas eve was either at our house or at his mom's. We always stayed with his mom (lower expectations).
Thanksgiving hasn't been a big thing for my family since my dad's aunt died and we all grew up and moved away. So that was time we could spend with DH's dad.
