This is a 3 day weekend. Fri morning I planned out all my shopping & errands so I would put on the LEAST number of miles & spend as little time as possible mindlessly running around. I even reset my trip meter so I could make sure I drove NO more than if I drove 1x to work and back in all 3 days.
did all my east of home stuff Friday - had to hit the dry cleaner as they had a special going that was about to expire so did EVERYTHING east of me. I'll pick it up on my next week east run.
Planned to do a west of me run today (Sat the 4th) but realized the one MUST do today I could walk to and push off the west run until Sunday (fruit market, CVS, WAG, dollar store). Therefore NO driving (spending on gas). Instead I will do laundry, some cleaning and a bunch of cooking to cover most of my meals for the week (chicken, pork fillet, hot dogs, potatoe salad). I might walk to our local business area to watch our local parade-can't park within 6 blocks anyhow so whats another 6 blocks. Might treat myself to a specialty coffee (NOT Starbucks) or fast food lunch (value menu) since I am saving on gas/car expense.
