Default frugal handyman - fiberglass panel for exterior door

Hello,
I have an exterior door to my attached garage that is rarely used. While the garage and house itself is covered in vinyl siding, the door is made of wood and has aged badly.
It would cost me about $100 to replace the door. Instead of replacing the door, I would like to somehow cover the door to protect it from the elements.
I've found a large all-fiberglass sheet(no paperboard) at my local home improvement store that is similar to suspended fiberglass ceiling panels. My idea is to use construction glue to glue it to the door - as if it has a new "skin".

Does anyone know if this type of fiberglass be suitable for exterior applications?

Or any other ideas?
