City officials have decided to drop criminal charges against a woman who hasn't paid a $1.16 income tax bill.
Deborah Combs, 51, had pleaded innocent to misdemeanor charges of failure to file city tax returns and not paying late fees. She faced up to $4,000 in fines and up to 18 months in jail if convicted.
But Mayor Brad Greenberg said Friday it's not worth spending the thousands of dollars in legal fees prosecuting the case...rest of story |
