I'm glad someone brought this up.

A friend of mine who is rather cheap, yes, I said cheap, could never understand why I would prefer to pay more for certain items since she knew I was thrifty. It made no sense to her. I then explained that if you were to buy a product with a lifetime guarantee, you'd be well ahead instead of buying the cheapest, worst made product that would need to be constantly replaced.

As much as she HATED to spend more on a item, she did come to realize the value of what I had taught her. And, she even used it on occasion. In fact, I helped create a monster. Her husband would do the laundry, and he was not "gentle" with it. Her bras would get frayed and discolored and since she bought bras with "guarantees" she'd state her dissatisfaction with the wear of the product. I can't even tell you how many times she'd return, wear, wash, return a bra for a free replacement.
