I personally wouldn't be able to keep my hands off of it Sky if I had it in the house.

I had a craptastic experience with Capital One but I love love love Navy Federal. What fees they do have are quite reasonable. What I've noticed is the mom and pop local banks tend to have lower quality customer service vs. national chains. Any office can have a peckerhead working there. As for the money order account, try to see if you can find a bank that doesn't charge (or charges very little) for cashier checks. At my last apartment they wouldn't take personal checks and Navy Federal doesn't charge for cashier checks. They work the same way as money orders but should be a bit more affordable. (I was NOT about to pay to pay my bills...later for that crap.)

The toilet tank method sounds solid. Icky but solid.
