Default Re: Splitting Chores

Mine are defined, but not as in you do this I do that, I do everything and DH fills in when I need it (which is a lot) but I don't always need the same thing, like yesterday I had no trouble getting the 2 minutes to switch and start a couple loads of laundry, plus 10 to hang one load, but I only managed 10 in the bathroom needed 5 more to sweep, so I asked and DH did it. Actually I listed 3 things I really needed done last night and he got left with the bathroom floor (he always says he picks what I least want to do). Oh and while pregnant I ALWAYS need him to do the lawn!

But I do have the work split so I have a good idea of what I should do each day. Today is Saturday and if we have company this is usually the day so today I make sure the living room is clean and vacuum, plus the front 'entryway' (all 4 sq foot of it .) Yesterday as you can guess was the bathroom. That way I know it has never been more than a week since I was in there and I can be pretty sure if someone pops in unexpected it isn't too embarrasing, so long as no camera crew is stopping by.

I also have two alrms set, one for 10:45am and one for 2:30pm both are to stop the kids and have them clean up, though I am flexible one way or the other, no more "hey its 11:15, no wonder you are both cranky you need lunch!" And we still have a messy house, cranky kids are impossible to speed clean with, so I end up doing it, yuck. (2:30 one is for snack and then 'homework', leaves the house that much ncer for when DH walks in, so he can play not clean with them)
