Re: What's in your closet?
I've been doing the consignment selling for years and have turned on a few of my friends to it as well. The things that sell the best are work related clothes and Designer labels. One of my friends loves to embellish her clothes with beads and rhinestones. When she's had enough of the item she turns around and sells this thru consignment and it sells well. Personally, I wouldn't buy it but.......
The trick to all of this is to pick the shop wisely. Make sure they've been in business for at least 3 years. This means they know their market so please, don't be offended if they turn away your items. They're doing you a favor by telling you that what you have will not sell at that shop. Chances are you're not in the right market. Never take it personally. Just keep moving on to the next shop.
You can sell shoes, belts, jewelry, purses, sunglasses, scarves, hats, swim wear.... even intimate items like bras, undies and sexy lingerie. Perfume (that's right, even if it's half full) flies off the shelf.
Use the money to reward yourself with a custom closet organizer so that you will not repeat past habits (like myself) and can see everything you own. This way the temptation to buy what you "think" you need is dead since you probably already have it.
You'll love this, I promise! It's better than ebaying your stuff one item at a time!
