Why all the fuss about freezing credit cards? Two minutes under hot water and Taa Daa they are thawed and ready to be used. If you really don't want to use them hide them in the back yard. Dig ten similar holes and only put the card(s) in one. In two weeks you won't remember which hole is which and you will get excercise trying to find the card(s).
Actually, what we did was cut them up. When we needed them for the "emergency" purchase we just called the company and requested a new one to be issued. If you really need the item(s), it will still be there when the card comes. Knowing you will have to wait for the new one to come will really define the importance of the purchase.
