Default Re: Anyone Make Homemade Pizza?

I make homemade pizza. We use the bread machine for the dough (cup of water heated in the microwave for 1 min, tsp of salt, 2 TBSP of oil, 3 cups flour-any type, 1 1/2 tsp yeast-2 tsp if using only whole wheat flour, put in bread machine in that order and then put it on the dough setting, bake at 400 degrees faranheit for 5-6 minutes). When the dough is ready, oil a pan (don't forget the sides) and your hands and dump the dough out onto the pan. I press it out into the pan. If you want thick crust, make the dough and let it sit for a while (several hours) to rise again.

We use canned/jarred spaghetti sauce (lately Hunt's Cheese and Garlic). We then put on pepperoni, onions (sauteed first), and black olives or whatever we have around the house. You can also use up bits of leftover stuff (chicken, taco meat, crumbled meatloaf). We try to make sure that all the toppings are pre-cooked.

We put the cheese on top of the stuff because it uses less cheese. Some people put the cheese down first, put the toppings on, and then sprinkle a little more cheese over the top.

We then throw it back in the oven for another 5-6 min basically to warm it up and melt the cheese.
