Re: Credit Cards --- Good or Bad?
Don't mean to nit-pick, but your first argument in the other thread was that credit cards caused people to spend more and they should use cash. A debit card is basically the same as the credit card when it comes to ease of purchasing (and I would assume that people pay just as much more with either a debit card or credit card in hand compared to cash)
So we are spending the same amount and I have to make an extra step 12 times a year to get a free airline ticket. I have insurance on all the items I purchase through the credit card in case they get stolen or broken within 3 months of purchase. I get automatic coverage on insurance with rental cars so I don't have to pay extra for it when I travel. None of this costs me a dime.
I'll take the free airline ticket and other benefits that the 2 minutes it takes me to write a check to the credit card company gives me every time.
