Excellent post! And it is a great way to answer a math student when they say, "when will I ever need to use percentages, etc., and things I'm learning in math?" For example, a math question might say, "how much of a discount are you getting if you have a coupon that says something like, 'buy 2, get the 3rd one for free...'"
